DITR: Fredrick Moore

Fredrick Moore is a Wide Receiver in the Class of 2023 for Cardinal Ritter College Prep in Saint Louis, Missouri. Standing in at 6’1” and 175 lbs., Moore has a build that some players dream of, while only being a sophomore! Moore is able to use his size and strength to bully defensive backs and make big plays in the passing game. That is not all though, Moore also possesses incredible speed and quickness which helps him create huge separation on his routes and make a great impact for his offense. He also takes pride in his run blocking, as he is often seen pancaking opposing defensive players near the numbers. His hard work and success on the football field transfers right into the classroom as he posted a 3.2 GPA! With great potential and lots of time left in his high school career, Fredrick Moore should be a player to look out for in the future.

When did you start playing football and why? I started playing football in first grade, I started playing because I just wanted to get out of the house and one day my mom brought me to the fields, and I started there.

Favorite moment of your career so far? Scoring 3 times in our last game before the state championship

What current or past player do you think you play like the most? Davante Adams, because my routes are like his, mine are very precise and I model my routes after him. A past player would be Chad Ochocinco, he is super good on his routes and his footwork is great as well.

Do you play any sports outside of football, and what do you think you adds to your game? I feel like track adds to my explosiveness and quickness, I think that every football player should run track

Do you have any pregame rituals? I usually listen to some gospel music to clear my mind. Every night before the game I pray and before the game I just think about scoring.

Going into your Junior season, what are you looking forward to? I’m looking forward to making big plays, making it to state, and playing with my team again.

What do you think a college would get out of you as a player? Consistency, I’m very disciplined, they won’t have to worry about me off the field and accountable, they will be able to rely on me in big moments, and I will always give them 100%

What motivates you to get up and train every day? My mom and my lost family member, I don’t want my mom to work anymore, and I want to get out of St. Louis

What do you think makes you a good teammate? I push my teammates, I give constructive criticism, and always push them to their max potential, I train with them and just want them to get better. Off the field I call my teammates sometime and check up on them.

Who has pushed you most in your football journey? My brother, he is one of my biggest fans, he has me doing a lot of things towards football, he got me into Elite training like camps, sometimes we just wake up early and work.

What do you think sets you apart from other athletes? I have a very IQ, I always come into the game thinking, I think through every play before the ball is ever snapped.

What do you think the best part of your game is? I am good at creating space on my routes, my run after catch ability is really good, I’m fast and good at breaking tackles

Would you consider yourself a possession, speed, or route running specialist? Route running specialist, I think that separates me from other players

Do you prefer to be pressed by the DB or not? I’m a physical receiver so I like them being pressed

Favorite route? Corner

Inside or outside routes? Inside routes, I like making big plays and inside routes make that happen

Favorite catching drill? My brother and I used to do a drill where I would put my body behind a tree and catch only using my hand, and before games I practice without gloves.

Best catch you have made in game? I made a diving catch and scored when the game was tied

What are you thinking pre snap? Give it my all whether I’m getting the ball or not

How important is blocking to you? Blocking is super important in a player’s game, most receivers are very selfish, but blocking can help you win a game because when you can’t pass, then you run and that’s why I take pride in my blocking

Favorite part of playing receiver? Catching the ball and making big plays.
