DITR: Chase Naquin WR E.D. White (Thibodaux, LA)

We at Gridiron would like to introduce our latest Diamond in to Rough the speedy WR/DB out of the class of 2026. On the offensive side of the football Chase uses his blazing quick speed to be a deep ball threat that opposing safeties have to look out for. Alongside this Chase is a great ball carrier who slides off tackles and makes great cuts up field to score. Due to his abilities as a ball carrier he also returns punts for E.D. White displaying his offensive capabilities. Chase is also a cornerback that has quick feet that keep up well with opposing wide receivers alongside having active disruptive hands.

Here’s my interview with Chase Naquin below!

Was there a play or moment that made you pick you position?

I remember in 8th grade we were playing Vanderbilt’s 8th grade football team and I had like a 3 touchdown game in 8th grade and…I just had big dreams of being a wide receiver for E.D. White.

Was there a player you emulated early?

I kind of always looked up to Paxton Lafont, he’s at Nichols now he was always a role model and a leader to me.

Whop would you compare your current playstyle to?

I got to go Travis Hunter. Cause I played both ways this year and it was a heck of a ride so I would go Travis Hunter.

What’s your strongest football attribute?

Probably just being an athlete, I’ve always been an athletic guy. And being a football player, knowing how to react and when to react.

What differentiates you from the rest?

I’d say being a part of E.D. White cause if I had gone to another school or some other program I would’ve never met the certain coaches I’ve met and they’d have never formed me to be who I am today.

What’s your favorite football move?

I would definitely just try to out run you because that’s what I was best at.

Dream football College?

If I could’ve I would’ve gone to LSU that would’ve been awesome.

What’s your biggest motivator?

Probably Coach Kyle, the huddle around him about 10 minutes before every game he would get you hype for anything. I wish I could listen to it one more time man it was awesome.

How does running track effect your play in football?

Track is just as hard as football. When you go to a track meet you’ve got the most athletic people you’ll ever meet in your life. You’ve got people that could jump over you, but then they could also run 100 meters in 10 seconds. Being in that atmosphere just prepared me for being around other athletes I’m going to be playing against.

Dream NFL teammate?

Right now I would have to say Josh Allen just cause I’d want him to be my quarterback.

Favorite football movie?

Remember the Titans is probably the GOAT football movie.
