Meet Gridiron’s latest Diamond in the Rough Brady Cribby a 5’8 170 pound running back in the class of 2027 out of Metairie. Brady has strong field vision with the ability to read and react to his blocks while also having breakaway speed with an impressive 4.7 40 yard dash. All this combined with his strong decisive cuts up field that can keep a play alive make him an elite player in the backfield. Brady was recently a finalist for the Gridiron players of the week for his explosive performance against Springfield scoring 4 touchdowns and recording 342 total yards. Alongside all of this on field success Brady has also been an all A and B student throughout high school and will continue to grow as a player and a student in his junior year.
Here is my interview with Brady below!
What got you into football?
Probably moving to Louisiana. I’m originally from Maine and I moved here when I was 8 so it was a big culture change. And it went from hockey being the number one sport to football so when I moved here, I started to get into it.
Do you remember a specific play that made you stick with your position?
In 8th grade against our rival Pat Taylor, it was my last middle school game ever and I had around 300 yards and 5 touchdowns against them.
Is there a player you tried to emulate when you became a running back?
I’ve always really liked Saquon cause he’s a combination of really fast and agile, but he’ll also run you over if he needs to. Which I think I’m a combination of both.
What do you think your strongest attribute is playing football?
Being patient and being able to read my blocks. I can stay behind the line and let the play really develop and then when I see the hole I can hit it and then make people miss in open space when I need to.
Who’s your dream teammate?
Probably Saquon cause I’ve always really looked up to him and last year, he had the opportunity to go in and break his own single game rushing yard record but he chose to let the younger guys get in and get reps. He’s really a team player, I look up to that.
What differentiates you from the other players in your class?
I think my work ethic. All off-season I work going to the park almost every day getting footwork and running in. And lift outside of the team lifts to get myself an edge over the opponent.
What’s your dream college to attend?
UNC since my dad was a North Carolina fan growing up so I’ve always been a North Carolina fan.
Favorite football move to hit?
I usually take a hard jab and then cut back the other way but the best feeling is probably when you run somebody over.
Favorite football movie?
Remember the Titans.
