Diamond in The Rough: Tristian Caroddo

Tristian Caroddo is a class of 2023 QB for Florida Christian High School in Miami, FL. He is 5’11 and weighs 170. Tristian is a dual-threat QB that can consistently throw accurate passes on the go. He has great pocket awareness and movement; his feet are always active while his eyes are always downfield. Tristian excels at throwing deep passes and puts the ball where it needs to be. You’ll notice on film that he’s an excellent decision-maker, and he uses his feet to buy extra time. Overall, Tristian is a great athlete with a lot of good qualities, including leadership.

How long have you been playing football? Since I was 9.

Do you play any other sports? No, just football.

Can you play any other positions? No, I just play QB.

How would your coaches and teammates describe you? Passionate and competitive but mostly competitive.

What kind of passes do you like throwing the most? Bombs, posts, and really anything deep.

What goes through your mind pre-snap?  What I can do to get my team in the best situation possible.

How do you handle the pressure? I just try to relax and remember that it’s just a game and you are there for a reason.

What’s the most rewarding part of playing QB? The fact that the ball is in your hands, and you basically control the team’s destiny.

As a QB how do you gain trust and control over an offense? Trust is just being able to perform and showing that your guys can count on you and control is just being a leader and being assertive.

What are you doing to get better?  I train with my QB coach two to three times a week; I also do speed training on top of what I do at practice.

Would you consider yourself more of a pocket passer or a dual threat QB? Dual threat.

What stands out about your arm the most? Accuracy.

Do you have a game day ritual? I usually listen to music, and I’ll walk onto the field before anyone gets there.

What’s your favorite part about playing QB? Probably the excitement of throwing a TD.

What do you bring to the table for a college team? The fact that I can keep growing, I have a lot of potential, and I still have not reached my full potential. Ill also keep growing even once I get to whatever college program.

Is there a player you can compare yourself to? Tua Tagovailoa.
