Nicholas Beckwith is a class of 2023 safety out of St. Thomas More High School in Lafayette, Louisiana. He is 6’3 and weighs in at around 200 pounds. Nicholas is an athletic safety who is not afraid to use size and his strength to be physical. Nicholas does a very good job of running downhill and making a play on the ball. He uses his speed well to run across the field and prevent a big play from happening. His lateral quickness and movement is definitely what jumped off the screen to me while watching his highlights. He does a really good job at reading the field and has the range to make plays across the field. Nick has all the tools to be an elite player at the next level. Great size, good speed, his physicality, high football IQ, and quick instincts show that he will be a problem for opposing teams’ offense. He recently helped lead his team to a state championship win. Currently, Nicholas is committed to the United State Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

I always played when I was a little kid. Just probably around five, I want to say, maybe seven, eight-ish, started playing flag football and stuff.
I want to say my leadership.
Yeah, I’m more of the lead by example. I don’t like talking too much. I feel like actions speak louder than words and I just want to lead by example, everyone follows me.
Yeah, it’s to win a state championship for me.
I learned about myself is perseverance. If you really want something you just got to put in the work and you’ll get it.
I like to look at all different safeties or people at my position and just take little things from them, like what I like about them and like about their game and just try to add it. I like Brian Dawkins, that’s a dog right there.
I think just like I kind of want to say my body, first of all, just a lot of people built the same way as me and then just my work ethic is a lot different than most recruits.
Football during Covid, it was kind of hard. I mean we never had to cancel I think any of our games or anything crazy like that. But I think adversity wise, while I’ve been playing it has been probably last year we won state and then had a little down year. It was a lot different from going to winning and then having transition to now you got to step up and lead and deal with losing and how to come back from losing and stuff like that
I would say my dad for sure. He taught me the game and I look up to him as a man and as a role model. He leads by example and I just follow it.
Oh yeah, I like playing basketball
I would say what motivates me is God. God put me on this earth and gave me all these skills, special talents and abilities. I’m just trying to maximize my potential so I can go be great.
Yeah, I mean just tell me what needs to get done and I’ll do it. Whatever the task is, I’m going to handle it.
