Diamond In The Rough: Justin Hudson

Justin Hudson is a 6’2″ quarterback out of Landry-Walker High School in New Orleans, Louisiana. At 210 pounds, Hudson has the great ability to tear through any play on the field as a quarterback. He also posses a great swiftness and speedy ability to get the ball down the field. Hudson is always determined to work on his craft. He’s been Louisiana’s Athlete of the Year and First Team All-District twice. Hudson holds a 3.5 gpa.

At what age did you begin playing football and what motivated you to play?

I began playing football when I was around six years old. My two older brothers motivated me to play football.

Do you play any other sports in high school?

I used to play basketball and baseball. In basketball, I was the shooting guard. I was the pitcher for the baseball team.

How do you think coaches and teammates would describe you as a player?

I think they would describe me as a hard worker and a leader. I am also a great player and overall student athlete.

What advice would you give to younger players who want to play high school football one day?

I would tell younger players to keep working hard and stay patient. They will need to trust the process.

Outside of sports, do you have any hobbies?

I like to play video games. My favorite game to play is Madden.

What would you say are some of your strengths?

I would say I am very accurate in throwing the ball. I also have a lot of power and a high IQ.

What do you do in your offseason?

I work out around two or three times a day. I throw and lift weights. I mainly just continue to study the game of football.

Do you have any specific personal goals for next season?

I would love to win a state championship. Throwing over 40 touchdowns is also a goal I have.

What are some pregame activities that your team does?

We mainly go over the plays before the game. We also run a lot of routes and I make sure to throw a lot to warm up.

What would you say motivates you the most?

I would say my dad motivates me the most. He introduced this sport to me and always encourages me to never give up.

What has football taught you about life?

Football has taught me to stay patient and never give up. I need to stay focused and always work hard to get to where I need to be.

Have you thought of a major?

I’m looking to go into architecture or broadcasting!
