How long have you been playing football and what got you started playing?

I played Pop Warner as a kid, but I stopped around 5th grade to play basketball. I was one of the tallest kids in my school. When we got a new football coach, he came to me and wanted me to come back and play football. So I joined in 10th grade and I’ve been playing ever since.

What has football taught you about life?

When you get knocked down you have to get back up. You can’t quit because something doesn’t go right.

What is the strong point of your game?

My speed, because I have to be quick because I am a little undersized at defensive end. I have to be quick off the ball so players can’t get into my chest. I make sure I’m fast and use my hands to keep offensive linemen off of me.

What will you bring to a college program that will make you special?

I’m a people’s person, so I’ll always be talking to my teammates, making sure we’re together and keep a close bond and brotherhood. I’m also a great listener, so no matter what I’m doing I am trying to get better – whether it’s on the field or off the field.

Is there a college or professional player you model your game after?

Arden Key. He’s tall and lanky like I am and we both use our quickness to get an advantage on the field. I also look up to Cameron Jordan. I think he is the best defensive end in the NFL.

Who has been the biggest influence on you as a football player?

My little brother. When he was younger, he was sick. So for a long time, my mom was with him so I stayed with my grandmother. He’s my biggest influence because I’m trying to reach a level where he won’t have to worry about anything.

Where do you see football taking you in the future?

A lot of kids just want to go to the NFL. If God wants that to happen for me it will happen, but I just want to go to college and see where I can play, and then come back and help kids as a coach. I want to bless other people like coaches have blessed me by giving me the opportunity to play this game.
