Central High School Prepares For 2nd Year of David Simoneaux Era

The Central Wildcats enter year two of the David Simoneaux era and expectations are extremely high after the team won nine games and made the Quarterfinals where they lost by a point to the Dutchtown Griffins.

After beating Louisiana high school powerhouse Neville in the second round and making it to the Quarterfinals for the first time in a decade, the Wildcats are ready to compete in 2024 for district and state championship titles with a lot of key players returning including signal caller Jackson Firmin. The Nicholls State commit comes into the season as one of the best quarterbacks in South Louisiana after throwing for 2,000 yards and rushing for 500 yards last season.

Defensively, the Wildcats will lean on their front seven led by Houston commit DK Mays, linebacker KD Mays, and defensive back Steven Ranel.
