Peabody Magnet High School QB James Lucas IV, who we like to call “Mr. Gridiron”, has committed to play in the 2024 Gridiron Football All-American Bowl Game at the end of the season.
At 6’2, 190 pounds, Lucas is a tremendous athlete that can excel at multiple positions including the quarterback position. For the Warhorses, Lucas has shown that he can be dynamic signal caller in limited action. When lining up to play quarterback, he has accounted for 500 yards and five touchdown passes this season, but he has also played some running back, fullback, and tight end as Peabody’s version of the New Orleans Saints’ Taysom Hill.
Like Hill, Lucas is a great athlete that has showcased his athleticism numerous times at our Gridiron Football Elite Camp Series as he went to six of our camps the last two years including every camp back in 2023. Ranked as the number six camp performer of 2023, Lucas posted some impressive numbers including a 4.07 shuttle time and a 10″ broad jump.
Because of his ability as a dual threat athlete, Lucas has modeled his game after other NFL quarterbacks including Jalen Hurts and Josh Allen.
James Lucas will get the chance to showcase his skills at the 2024 Gridiron Football All-American Bowl Game, which will be played on Monday, December 30th at Memorial Stadium in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
“I am extremely excited and grateful to be selected for the bowl game and I want to accomplish playing at the next level and for a college.”
