Acadiana High School three star defensive tackle Darryus McKinley becomes the 17th pledge of the LSU Football 2026 class and the third Louisiana interior defensive lineman joining U-High’s Lamar Brown and Edna Karr’s Richard Anderson.
With this commitment, McKinley plans on reuniting with his older brother Dominick McKinley, who is a current defensive lineman for the Tigers. This would be the third different brother tandem on the football team including the Weeks brothers (Whit, West, Zach) and the Bordelon brothers (Bo and Brett).
The 6’3, 270 pound prospect is the number three defensive lineman in the state of Louisiana and chose the Tigers over Texas, Florida, and Tennessee. Last season, he had 67 tackles, 18 TFLs, eight sacks, and 11 quarterback hurries.
Defensive coaches including defensive coordinator Blake Baker, defensive line coach Kyle Williams, and Edge coach Kevin Peoples were the ones that led the way in his recruitment.
