This year at LGF, we will be taking a look at the senior class of some Louisiana high schools and taking a look at their potential to play at the next level. Categories for each position are measured on a 1-10 scale, with 10 being well above average and 1 being well below average. We continue with the senior class of the Pineville Rebels.
Cameron Bates QB 6-3 210lbs
Good touch on his throws. Good accuracy. Maneuvers around the pocket wells. Athletic runner, hard to bring down. Footwork and throwing motion needs some work. OK arm strength Future Outlook: D1 FBS QB
Jordan Brown DT 5-10 275lbs
Run-stopping D-lineman. Hustles to the ball until he hears the whistle. Good at readn and reacting to the run. Needs to work on pass-rushing skills. Needs to get stronger at point of attack. Future Outlook: D3 DL
Cameron Blackwell RB 5-10 150lbs
Good hands. Catches the ball out of the backfield well. Speed is OK. Hits the hole well but does run upright. Pass blocking is very good. Future Outlook: D2/D3 RB
John Joseph WR 5-10 150lbs
Very good hands, catches the ball away from his body. Attacks the ball at its highest point. Competes every play. Good at running after the catch and making defenders miss tackles. Route running needs work. Kick returner is a plus. Future Outlook: D2 WR
Mason Musgrove LS 6-2 210lbs
Good snaps, tight spirals. Hustles down field to make tackles.
Dontaveous Futrell DB 5-9 140lbs
Good tackler, coverage skills are OK. Makes lays on the ball when in coverage. Most likely too small to play outside corner especially against bigger receivers. Usually plays off coverage and has good play recognition. Future Outlook: D3 corner
Chris Hall LB 5-10 210lbs
Read and react linebacker. Good at avoiding blocks but needs to work on getting off blocks when they get to him. Sure tackler and plays well in coverage. Uses speed to his advantage. Also plays RB. Future Outlook: FBS/D2 LB
Levi Roberts OT 5-10 250lbs
Strong, Athletic lineman. They like to run behind him but also to let him release and lead block on screen plays. Likes to attack and sometimes does not get a good set when pass blocking. Leans forward and doesn’t use hands as well as you would like. Future Outlook: D3 OL
Bailey Murray C 6-1 240lbs
Good snaps and good communicator at line of scrimmage. Uses hand placement well. Picks up blitzes well. Strong kid. Future Outlook: D2 Center
Jaylin Johnson DL/OT 6-1 285lbs
Moves well for his size, whether penetrating the LOS on defense or getting to the next level when run blocking. Really attacks as on O-lineman. Will have to learn not to lean forward against better competition. Future Outlook: D2/D3 OL
