One of the most slept on diamonds in the rough in the state of Louisiana has committed to play in the 2026 Gridiron Football All-American Bowl Game, and that is Welsh High School standout two-way athlete Jordan Strong.
“I appreciate the invite and thank you to Gridiron Football for inviting me to play in the All-American Bowl Game. It means that I can prove myself even more at the end of the season.”

This makes it the third commitment already this week for the Gridiron Football All-American Bowl Game joining two three-star prospects in WR/DB Bra’jon Melancon from North Iberville and RB Aymaud Sykes from Grant. Like the previous two, Strong made a big impression at our Gridiron events. At our Lake Charles camp, Strong was perhaps the overall MVP of the camp and was dominant having the fastest 40 of the camp (4.69/40), fastest shuttle of the camp (3.98), and farthest broad jump (9’5). The 3.98 shuttle time also set a record of being the quickest shuttle time in the history of the Gridiron Football Elite Camp Series.
“I thought I did really well at the camp. I competed against a lot of people. I worked with a lot of people and it just showed me that you really have to work hard to earn it.”

At 6’0, 200 pounds, Strong has a unique blend of both quickness and strength when he has the football in his hands. In the weight room, he has a 240-pound bench press, 415-pound squat, 455-pound deadlift, and a 275-pound clean. Along with a high football IQ, his versatility and ball skills leap off the shelves. Entering his fourth year as a starter, #10 was the number one option for the Greyhounds at quarterback, wide receiver, and at defensive back. He is a three-time All-Parish selection, a two time All-District selection, and an All-State selection over his prep career.
With a 3.8 GPA to boot, it is a total shock that he is still searching for his first collegiate offer, but he is hoping a strong senior season will help attract the attention of college coaches.
“I am just trying to stay healthy this whole season and lead my team to the championship.”

When his prolific prep career is over, he will get the opportunity to showcase his talents in front of college coaches and represent the Welsh Greyhounds one more time at the Gridiron Football All-American Bowl Game, which will once again be played at Louisiana Christian University on December 30th.
“My message to college coaches is that I can work hard on the field and off the field. I got good grades and obviously, I can play wherever you need me to play.”
