Just in! This determined athlete, Victor Youmans, is the latest Diamond in the Rough for Gridiron Football! Victor earned this title due to his outstanding football performance. He is part of the class of 2027 and has a 3.0 GPA. Victor is 6’1, 180 lbs. This year, he maxed out his bench and squat at weights of 205 lbs and 315 lbs. Victor proves versatile when it comes to football, as he has been seen being able to play WR and SS positions. This multi-talented athlete competes in basketball and runs track as well. When it comes to motivation, Victor not only puts his trust in his skills but looks further to God. These qualities have made Victor the latest Diamond in the Rough!

What is your biggest strength?

“I can catch well, I also have good field I.Q.”

Are there any specific skills you are best at?

“Route running and getting open.”

Are there any skills you are looking to improve?

“Probably just getting faster.”

What does a typical training day look like for you?

“During the school week, I get done with school work, then go and work out with my team. After that, I go to track practice, and on weekends I work out with my football coach.”

Has there been a difficult time or injury you have overcome?

“Yes, I had an injury on my left ankle. I worked it out through prayer and PT for 2 months.

What has been your favorite memory from football?

“When I had caught the ball and rushed fro 35 yds off the ankle injury.”

Do you have a role model for sports?

“Yes, Jeremiah Smith. I see the way he plays, he’s not scared.”

What are your goals in and outside of football?

“To play in college and go for PT or become a doctor.”

Why do you play football?

“Because, it’s a fun sport and I’ve played it since I was young.”

How do you stay focused in high pressure situations?

“I just pray.”

As one of the first people offered a bowl game invite for this year, what makes you stand out among other players?

“I’m coming to work and coming to prove that I can be recruited.”

Why should you be recruited?

“Cause I have great moments, coaches like me on their team, and I’m a valuable player.”

What advice do you have for other players in similar positions?

“Listen to your coach and stay confident. Make sure you have good defense or offense and no excuses, also watch film.”
