The 2026 Gridiron Football All-American Bowl Game is turning out to be our most talented yet as after it was announced yesterday that North Iberville 3 star ATH Bra’jon Melancon has committed, another three star top prospect in the state of Louisiana also announced his commitment to this prestigious all-star game and that is Grant High School (Dry Prong, LA) RB Aymaud Sykes.
“It’s a big deal to get invited to the bowl game. I mean everybody at Grant really wants to go to it. We have had at least three or four play in it the last couple of years, so it means a lot to me. I am really excited about the opportunity and ready to show my talents.”

The 5’11, 175 pound speedster running back opened everyone’s jaws at our Breaux Bridge camp with a record setting 4.29/40.
“I was surprised by the time I ran because it was the fastest time that I ever ran. I wanted to go out there and show coaches what I can do and I feel like I did that today.”

The blazing 40-yard dash solidified not only a bowl game invite, but it also drew the attention of many college coaches. Shortly after running the 40, Sykes picked up a SEC offer from the Arkansas Razorbacks. While he picked up earlier offers from DI programs, the Arkansas offer helped set the stage for plenty of more offers including from Memphis, Tulane, Kansas State, UConn, Liberty, Appalachian State, Coastal Carolina, Louisiana Tech, ULL, Northwestern State, McNeese State, and Grambling.
Rated as a three star prospect being the number 15 player in Louisiana and number 31 running back in the country, Sykes got on everybody’s radar with his insane LHSAA single game and NFHS record performance against Montgomery last season rushing for 420 yards and 10 touchdowns. That would have been good for one season let alone a game and Sykes finished his junior campaign earning 1st Team All-State and Offensive MVP honors with 2,188 rushing yards and a state leading 35 touchdowns on less than 200 carries.
His goals for the upcoming year are to run for 4,000 yards. While he is obviously a big-time playmaking running back with the ability to take it to the house on any given play, football is not his only sport. In basketball, he was named 2023 Freshman MVP and 2024/2025 All-District Honorable Mention. In track, he was the team’s MVP and placed third in 100 meters (10.59) as well as 4×200 (1.29) in the LHSAA 4A State Track Meet.
With a 3.3 GPA, this three star and three sport athlete is breaking records while continuing to climb the recruiting rankings as one of the top rising prospects to watch in Louisiana heading into the season. Before he plays on Saturdays at the next level, Aymaud Sykes will represent the Grant Cougars one more time at the end of the season at the 2026 Gridiron Football All-American Bowl Game.
The 8th annual Gridiron Football All-American Bowl Game will return to Louisiana Christian University for the second year in a row and will be played on Wednesday, December 30th.
