DITR: 2027 LB Elijah Keith (Lake Charles, LA)

Help us in welcoming our latest Diamond in The Rough, Elijah Keith! Keith won All State defensive lineman from 8th to 10th grade. He also won All State wide receiver. He is a very versatile player doing whatever it takes for his team to win. Keith does well off the field maintaining an impressive 4.0 GPA. On the field, Elijah plays with discipline and effort, using his size and athletic ability to read plays, fill gaps, and make tackles in the run game. His combination of strength, mobility, and football instincts makes him a reliable presence at linebacker and a player who can contribute in multiple defensive and offensive situations. We at Gridiron Football wish Elijah the best!

What made you start playing football?

Seeing my brothers doing it, but after that it grew into my own passion. My motto is to be the most feared person on the field. You want to be that guy that no one sees coming.

What did you like about the camp?

I liked the drills and the competitiveness. Just the opportunity it was unique and I never did it before.

What is a drill that you can improve on (from camp)?

Definitely my 40 time to get my speed up.

What made you choose this camp?

Recommendation from my coach.

Who is your favorite football player?

Cam Skattebo

What motivates you to keep working hard?

Seeing myself grow into a better player. I love seeing my stats and watching them grow. Being a leader for my team and seeing personal improvement.

What was your favorite drill?

I liked the broad jump.

How did it feel competing with other players at the camp?

I liked it and I loved meeting the new people. I got to talk to people and see where they are from it was pretty cool.

How does camps like this get help you get better for the season?

It helps me get in the right mindset competing with better people. Also seeing people that’s good and better than me motivates me to beat them.

What is the biggest thing you learned from the camp?

A lot of the stuff about how to act. Also how to put myself in position to get scholarships.

What goals do you have for your upcoming season?

Getting 110 tackles on defense and getting MVP for my league.

What does being a good teammate mean to you?

It means being the calmest on the field when everyone is panicking just being the peace. Also drive my team to be aggressive and violent towards the other team.
