Picture from Paige Luper

Landon Boston is a 5’10”, 195-pound RB out of Jonesboro Hodge HS in Jonesboro, LA. The recent Ottawa College commit battled a hamstring injury that had sidelined him for 5 games; however, when he returned, he made the absolute most of it. In just 6 games, he had 675 yards and 5 touchdowns on just 75 carries. It is worth mentioning that this is only his first year playing running back full-time; he was originally a linebacker, where he earned second-team all-state as a sophomore and then backed that up with a strong junior season, totaling 89 tackles. All of this while maintaining a 3.4 GPA, so a baller who truly embodies what it means to be a student athlete.

How would you rate your bowl game experience?

I’d rate it a 10/10. I got to meet a lot of new people and got to make a lot of new friends (Boston).

How did your season go?

Unfortunately, I got injured in game one, hurting my hamstring, and had to miss 5 weeks. But when I got back, I think I made the most of it. Our team ended up 9-4, a major turnaround from 4-7 the two seasons prior (Boston).

How would you describe yourself as a player?

Somebody that is willing to do anything to win (Boston).

What would you consider your strengths?

My explosiveness, my ability to hit gaps, and then after that, just being able to break a lot of tackles (Boston).

What aspects of your game are you trying to improve most?

My speed and agility. I’ve been running track to improve that, but more specifically as a running back. I’ve been trying to work on being more patient (Boston).

What makes you stand out from the next recruit?

I’m the ultimate team-first guy. I give my full effort, and I’m willing to take any position my team needs (Boston).

What keeps you motivated to try so hard in the classroom?

My parents emphasized the value of education from a young age, telling me as long as I do well in school, I can go as far as I want with football (Boston).

What are some of your plans for life after football?

I am not sure yet; I plan to major in accounting, but football is definitely “Plan A” (Boston).

What is your go-to pregame song?

I honestly don’t like listening to music pregame; I just like to sit in my thoughts and lock in. But if I had to pick one, it would definitely be Games of War by NBA YoungBoy (Boston).

What made you fall in love with the game of football?

Growing up watching the New Orleans Saints, I loved Drew Brees. I also liked watching Odell Beckham Jr. (Boston).

What is a quote you live by?

Keep chasing your dreams and don’t let anybody stop you (Boston).
