BREAKING NEWS: Woodville High School (Woodville, TX) WR Gage Tolar Commits To 2025 Gridiron Football All-American Bowl Game

Woodville High School (Woodville, TX) do it all playmaking wide receiver Gage Tolar has committed to play in the 2025 Gridiron Football All-American Bowl Game, which will take place on Tuesday, December 30th at Louisiana Christian University in Pineville, Louisiana.

For the 6’2, 180 pound receiver, Tolar was a Swiss Army Knife for an explosive Eagles offense that had nine wins this season. With a DI quarterback under center in Luke Babin, Tolar’s versatility gave him some snaps at quarterback as well. However, his biggest attribute in Heath Clawson’s offense is his ability as a receiver. What sets Tolar apart is his ability to beat you at all levels of the field, he can beat you on screens and making plays after the catch. He also has the ability to beat defenses deep over the top and is tough to make catches over the middle of the field. As Babin’s number one target, he finished with 45 catches for 824 yards and 12 touchdowns this season to go along with 13 carries for 79 yards and another two touchdowns.

Not to mention, he is a standout placekicker that earned All-District honors as a junior. This season, Tolar was reliable with his kicking by converting on 42 of his 48 extra points and having 16 punts for 600 yards with a long of 54 yards. His overall athleticism was displayed the most when he won the Gridiron Football Player of the Week Award in Week 11 where he had 6 catches for 100 yards and 1 TD receiving, 6 carries for 47 yards and 2 touchdowns rushing, and making all of his eight extra point attempts in a 56-41 playoff win over West Rusk.

“It’s just a testament to his athletic ability. I think on the reveal show, you said he’s a football player and that describes him and that’s absolutely true, but he’s a great athlete. He’s a top player for us in baseball as well and he’s just an all around good athlete. That versatility on the field is extremely valuable to our team. If we need him to hop in at quarterback, he can do it at a moment’s notice and then we use him to run the ball some at quarterback as well, but I said whenever the season started with Luke at quarterback, Gage would probably start for 90 percent of the teams in the state at quarterback. He’s really talented as well, but he’s such a great receiver and he does so many things for us that he’s very valuable in a lot of ways.”

Currently, the three star receiver rated by Gridiron Football has received two offers from Anderson University and Howard Payne University. Having another opportunity to showcase his skills in front of college coaches, Tolar is excited to show the coaches what he has to offer.

“I’m truly blessed that you invited me for it. I would definitely attend it. I’m truly blessed that I get to play one more game and improve myself.”
