DITR: Cam Joseph (Gulfport High School, Gulfport, MS)

Our newest Diamond in the Rough is class of 2024 Wide Receiver Cam Joseph out of Gulfport High School. Cam is 6’0 175 LBS, he runs a 4.49 forty yard dash, benches 215 LBS, deadlifts 415 LBS, squats 385 LBS, and has a 265 LBS power clean. He was All-MVP 1st Team All Region last year, with 35 catches, 716 yards, and 8 touchdowns.

When did you start playing football?

“I started playing when I was 6 years old.”

What is your favorite part about football?

“I just love the competition that comes with it. I love being competitive and getting hit.”

What is the hardest part about football?

“Coming together as a team and building up the program from the base up.”

What is something you learned playing football?

“That it takes more than 1 person to accomplish the goals we set for ourselves.”

Do you play any other sports?

“Yes, I am on the track team, where I compete in the 400M, 4x100M 4x200M, and 4x400M.”

Who is your favorite College Football Team?

“My favorite College Football Program is Ohio State.”

Who is your favorite NFL Team?

“My Favorite NFL Team is the Carolina Panthers.”

Who is your biggest role model?

“My biggest role model has to be my mom, she has come up as a single mother and worked extremely hard for me and my brothers.”

Do you have any players that that you like to watch and mimic your game after?

“I really like to watch Tank Dell from the University of Houston, and Tyreek Hill along with Justin Jefferson.”

How do you balance school and football?

“It is school before anything for me, I get my work done and worry about football when that is finished.”

Do you have any goals for next season?

“I want to reach 1000 yards receiving and I want to go to the state championship.”

How do you prepare for a game?

“I study the plays, make sure I get the right amount of sleep, eat right, and just lock in.”

What is your best skillset as a player?

“That would be my route running as a receiver.”

What does it mean to be a good teammate?

“It means you are accountable, never giving up, and keeping your head up while being a leader.”

How will your team reach their goals for next year?

“We need to keep the hard work we have been putting in going, and if we do that we have the ability to go all the way.”
