Makhi Allen of Abramson Science Academy enters the All-American Bowl as one of Louisiana’s most complete young defenders. Standing at 6’0” and 170 pounds, Allen brings the speed and intensity coaches look for in a modern outside linebacker. His film is filled with violent finishes, downhill pursuit, and snap-to-snap urgency. Allen diagnoses plays quickly, keeps his eyes locked on the ball carrier, and is almost always involved in the tackle—even on plays that stretch to the opposite side of the field.
His on-field production has already earned him significant recognition, including Rookie of the Year, All-Star honors, and Defensive Player of the Year—a rare collection for such a young athlete. Off the field, Allen’s 3.5 GPA highlights his discipline, focus, and ability to balance academics with the demands of varsity football.
Allen’s combination of football IQ, closing speed, and fearless physicality makes him a difference-maker on defense and a rising name to watch in New Orleans. He brings a competitive edge to this year’s All-American Bowl and is poised to showcase the high-energy style that has defined his early career.
When asked about the opportunity to step on the field one more time in 2025, Allen answered with:
It’s exposure. I see it as another shot, another chance. I see it as a blessing from God and I pray for moments like this every night.
