A day after it was announced that his teammate Theodore Wogomon has committed to play in the 2025 Gridiron Football All-American Bowl Game, another Rosepine High School standout offensive lineman also committed to play in the prestigious All-Star game and that is senior offensive lineman Patrick Gibson.
At 6’0, 240 pounds, Gibson has been one of the Eagles’ most consistent and productive players over his prep career. The biggest strength on the team is the offensive line, and Gibson has been a big part of that for David Weldon’s squad. Last season, Gibson was named 2nd Team All-District as a junior and was named 1st Team All-Vernon Parish as a sophomore in 2023.
Not only a standout on the football field, Gibson’s strength carries over as one of the best powerlifters in the state for his weight class. In 2024, he finished Top 10 in state. Rated as a three star prospect by Gridiron Football, his lower body strength really shows on film as Gibson does a great job of getting underneath a defensive linemen’s shoulder pads and driving them back or into the ground. The Eagles’ left guard is also quick enough and athletic enough to lead ball carriers out when pulling.
Although Gibson has yet to receive an offer, he has received attention from college coaches as the Louisiana Christian University coaches recognized him as one of the top performers of the camp. It was at the camp where he received the invite to play in the Gridiron Football All-American Bowl Game. Along with being a great player for the Eagles, he also has a 3.3 GPA and a 27 on his ACT. When receiving the offer to play in the bowl game, Gibson was excited to receive the news and hopes this is another opportunity to showcase his skills in front of college coaches, but he is also excited about having another chance to play another game at the end of his senior season.
“Football has been my love ever since I was able to walk. I remember going out and playing football in the backyard with my dad. Even if I don’t go to the next level, getting the chance to play that one last game is something that you can never replace.”
