Flowers blossoming, birds a chirping, the smell of fresh cut grass in the air, and the sound of pads a smashing and you will know that spring football is here. I was at Walker High School the other day and Coach Ricard had his squad out sweating and knocking the rust off the old football pads. He has a high tempo practice and several of his boys stood out.
DE Ke’Andre Ventress, OLB Keondre Brown, OLB Dakota Wilson, MLB Cade Sigmore, SS BJ Lockheart, FS Calvin Watson, CB TJ Briley, DT Gerome Wilson, WR Trent Montgomery, WR Brian Thomas, and WR Jalin Cook all stood out Wednesday night. Coach Ricard said he has number of good players returning this year.
Coach Ricard mentioned that several schools have been impressed with several of the young men on his team. He remarked that even LSU had been there to look at one of his players.
