Just like the hashtag says that went viral, Woodlawn High School quarterback Rickie Collins reconsidered and chose to commit to the LSU Tigers nine days after announcing his decision to de-commit from Purdue.
The 6’2, 190 pound four star quarterback is the first quarterback to commit to the Tigers in this year’s 2023 class. Overall, he is the class’ 19th commitment and sixth player from the state of Louisiana joining wide receiver Shelton Sampson Jr., running back Kaleb Jackson, running back Trey Holly, offensive lineman Tyree Adams, and defensive back Ashton Stamps.
Collins has thrown for over 40 touchdowns during his Woodlawn career and now will focus on trying to lead the Panthers to a state championship this season after becoming the District MVP last season.
We, at Gridiron Football USA, will have an exclusive interview with Rickie Collins, which will be posted in next month’s issue of Gridiron Football.
For those that missed the commitment ceremony, here it is below held at Mason’s Grill!
