NEW ORLEANS – After a week off, Tulane football was back on the practice field this week with the team’s sixth and seventh spring practices.
The Green Wave got in two extended workouts on Tuesday and Thursday at Yulman Stadium to springboard into the remaining schedule this month leading to the spring game.
Head coach Willie Fritz said this week has been productive, especially with getting some veteran players back on the practice field for the first time this spring.
“We’re getting a few guys back who have been banged up,” said Fritz. “They’ve been really limited the first six practices so it’s good to get those guys back in there.”
Overall, Fritz said he is pleased with the team’s progress as the coaching staff has installed different concepts on offense, defense and special teams.
“I think everyone is getting used to a few of the little wrinkles that we’ve put in,” said Fritz. “It’s going well. We just need to take advantage of these last eight practices.”
Spring practice continues Saturday, April 8 at Yulman Stadium. Practices are closed to the public. The 2017 Tulane Football Spring Game is set for Saturday, April 22 at 10 a.m.
On Friday, Tulane is set to hold its Pro Day at the New Orleans Saints Indoor Practice Facility in Metairie, La. The event begins at 11 a.m. and is open to the media. Media representatives are encouraged to park in front of the media work room and will be escorted to the indoor practice facility.
Former players scheduled to participate in the Green Wave’s Pro Day are Devon Breaux, Larry Dace III, Todd Jacquet, NicoMarley, Josh Rounds, Tanzel Smart, Chris Taylor, Eric Thomas and Lazedrick Thompson
