NEW ORLEANS – Tulane football put the finishing touches on its spring slate with the team’s penultimate practice Thursday morning at Yulman Stadium.
The Green Wave went through a spirited, 90-minute practice session in preparation for their 2017 spring game set for Saturday at 10 a.m.
“We got a lot of stuff done,” said head coach Willie Fritz. “We’re still inserting some plays offensively and, then defensively, we kind of worked on a new coverage and front here today. We got some work in the special teams early so I think it was a very productive practice.”
Look for Fritz’s squad to show that same productivity in the spring game as all three phrases will be on display, highlighted by offense and defense going against each other in a scripted scrimmage. The team will not be split into separate teams and no score will be kept.
“It will be a good workout for us,” added Fritz. “It will give these guys experience. Then, we’ll take Sunday off and start getting into the offseason.”
