GRAMBLING, La. | Football is officially back at Grambling State University after three months as the Tigers begin their annual slate of spring practices on Friday at Eddie G. Robinson Memorial Stadium.
Grambling State begins its path to the 2022 season with 15 practices this spring, culminating with the annual spring game on Saturday, April 2. The spring game will also be held on the same day that the Tigers will hosting a ton of recruits for junior day.
Hue Jackson, in his first season as the head football coach at Grambling State, will be installing a new offensive and defensive system.
Grambling State went 4-7 overall in 2021, 3-5 in the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC). GSU returns the bulk of the offense, defense and special teams. Approximately, 80 players will be available to compete in the spring. The Tigers recently completed a 2022 signing class of 37 student-athletes, including 16 that will be in uniform this spring.
All practices are closed to the public and the first time fans will have the opportunity to see Jackson and the new-look Tigers will be during the annual Black and Gold Spring Game on April 2.
