In 1924, Sacred Heart began as small mission of St. Joseph Parish in Baton Rouge. The pastor of St. Joseph’s, Monsignor Francis Gassler, had studied the needs of the people of the area and immediately established a catechetical center with Miss Margaret Lee Jolly as the principal and Mrs. Emma Booth as her assistant. Later a chapel/hall combination was built. The philosophy of Sacred Heart School regarding athletics is that every student in the program be given the opportunity to have a positive, growing experience in athletics. The purpose of athletics at Sacred Heart is to help our students to develop lifetime physical and mental skills.

Sacred Heart finished the season 7-4 being lead by Head Coach Jacob Aguillaed. Coach Aguillaed is on year 9 of coaching but has been coaching Sacred Heart for 3 going onto 4 years now. Coach Aguillaed is a players coach. He expressed to me that he enjoys watching his players grow up.
