Lafayette Christian Academy (LCA) was established in 1974. It was founded by Pastors Sterling and Jean Miller to provide a Christ-centered education. The school serves grades PreK-4 through 12, offering a variety of athletic and academic programs. Lafayette Christian Academy competes as a Class 4A school and is a member of the Louisiana High School Athletic Association (LHSAA). In the last 11 years LCA athletics has won 14 state championships with the Girls Basketball Team holding the most at 5. The Football team holds 4 state titles with the most recent one being in 2020 with the record of 12-1. LCA also has been state runners up 6 times over these years.
LCA Football has been a powerhouse for years, this past season they went 11-2. Head Coach Matthew Standiford has been a very successful background. He has been coaching for 12 years 3 at the college level as a graduate assistant working with QB, OL, and RB and 9 years at the high school level. He started at the high school level with becoming the OL coach at Westminster did that for a few years then became the OC, he was at Westminster for a few more years then switched over to LCA as the OL coach for 4 years then year 5 he became the OC while also still helping with the lineman. Halfway through year 5 he was the interim HC then he took the job fully this past January. Coach Standiford also servers as the Middle School Athletic Director which consist of helping 5th-8th graders get ready for high school sports.

How do you run your program?
I’d like to like to think I’m a players coach. I’m big on the motivation side of it and hate micromanaging.
What is your big goal?
My goal is to surround myself with good people, surround myself with people that are older, wiser, and, that been around the game.
