Rising Star, QB/DB Jase Harris, Ferriday Junior High (Ferriday, Louisiana)

Jase Harris is a 5’9, 155 lb quarterback out of Ferriday Junior High. His style of play is best described as a scrambler, comparable to Josh Allen or Lamar Jackson. He has an innate ability to keep his legs under him, as well as an eye for finding receivers once he leaves the pocket. Jase’s speed had him carrying the ball across the goal line 3 times this year, along with 108 yards on the ground on only 15 carries. Jase’s ability does not stop at speed, as he threw 15 touchdowns for 980 yards on a 45/90 completion rate, with only 5 interceptions this season. As a class of 2028 athlete, Jase still has lots of time to grow his game. With the raw talent he already has, Jase has the blueprints to be an elite quarterback for a long time.

Who or what made you fall in love with the game of football?

Definitely my Dad and my Uncle. They inspired and supported me to play the game.

What is your dream college to play football for?

The University Of Georgia Bulldogs.

How would you describe your style of play?

A mobile quarterback. I like to make plays and keep plays alive when they break down.

What is the most challenging part of playing quarterback?

As a quarterback you have to memorize every play in the book. Sometimes my mind will blank when trying to remember certain plays, so I would say that is a challenge for sure.

Who do you try and resemble your game after?

I really like to watch Lamar Jackson play so I would say him. He has been a huge inspiration to me and the way I play the game.

Who is your greatest quarterback of all time?

Michael Vick. He was absolutely unstoppable and the most electric player I have ever seen.

What are your goals outside of football?

I want to graduate high school in the top of my class.

What has football taught you?

It has helped me turn into a leader. As the quarterback, you are looked at as the field general, so it has taught me how to lead my teammates. Football also teaches you how to be a better communicator, so that has helped me as well. Football also helps build your mental toughness.

Do you play any other sports?

I play baseball and basketball.

Do you have any pre game rituals?

I pray to the Lord and talk to my Papa.

What about your game stands out?

I am tough, but going into highschool I need to get stronger so I can dominate on the field whenever it is my turn.
