Let’s give it up for our newest Rising Star, from the class of 2032, Brantley Thomas! Brantley popped out for the Gridiron Elite Camp in Lake Charles, LA, and intends to show off at many more. This speedy 6th grader is 4’10 and weighs 80 lbs. Brantley stays well rounded, receiving A’s and B’s for his school work, and plays baseball too. He has previously obtained awards for Offensive and Defensive MVP of the Year for his football talent. These accomplishments have led Brantley to become our newest Rising Star!

Take a peek at these highlights from the camp!

Check out my interview with Brantley!

What did you look forward to most at the camp?

“Learning how to do certain things better, really just to learn new stuff.”

What was your favorite drill you performed?

“Probably, 7 on 7, or the running back drills.”

Was there a specific drill you would have liked to have done?

“I should have probably done some QB work.”

What exactly did you like about the camp?

“It shows how you can achieve big things in football.”

What skills do you think you performed well?

“The wide receiver drills.”

What were your 40 yd dash and shuttle run times?

“The 40 was a 6.5, and the shuttle was a 4.84.”

What was your broad jump?

“It was a 5′.4.”

What is your biggest strength?

“My actual strength.”

Do you think you performed at your best?

“I tried my hardest, I do think I could have done a little better.”

If given the chance, what would you have done differently?

“Try and run a faster 40, and really try harder for the 7 on 7.”

What were you trying to get out of this camp?

“I had never really tried a big camp like yours, so really, just a chance to learn.”

Do you have any role models?

“Yes, Jackie Robbinson, I love his story. He wasn’t liked, but he never gave up and continued to play the sport he loved.”

Why do you play football?

“I love the sport and how quick it is. If you’re fast or strong, you can be really good at it, really, you can be a lot of things and still be good at it.”

Did you learn any important lessons at the camp?

“How to run faster, plant my feet, and that as you get older, you have to keep putting in the work.”

If you could offer one piece of advice for others participating in the camp, what would it be?

“That they should come multiple times, you all really teach us how to play, they also need to be ready.”
