Pine (LA) 2026 LB Cadyn Stogner is Gridiron Football Player of Week 2

Check out the full video interview with Pine LB Cadyn Stogner and his head coach Bradley Seal!

After a quarterback wins the Gridiron Football Player of the Week award in St. Amant QB Cooper Babin, it is a linebacker that wins it in Week 2 and he also comes from the state of Louisiana in Pine High School (Franklinton, LA) OLB Cadyn Stogner.

Stogner was one of 15 finalists from both the states of Louisiana and Texas to be considered for the award and it was up to the fans to decide the victory. In a close battle between Stogner and E.D. White High School WR Chase Naquin, it was Stogner that won the fan vote winning with a grand total of 42,489 votes.

“I just want to thank the fans a lot. Without them, it would be impossible for me to compete with anybody out there. It was amazing to see how fast I was going up in the votes.”

In a Week 2 44-19 win over Independence, Stogner was all over the field making plays on the defensive side of the football with 14 tackles, two sacks, and a safety.

“It was a good performance, but I still think I can get a little better. I would give myself a B. I believe I can even have better games moving forward.”

The Raiders’ three year starting linebacker is one of the team’s best players at 6’0, 190 pounds. Stogner’s speed and ability to get in the backfield sets himself apart and is also heavily praised by his head coach Bradley Seal for being one of the best defensive players he has been around.

“Over the years, there has been a debate about who the best receiver is, who the best offensive lineman is, but here, there is no debate. Cadyn is the best outside linebacker I’ve ever coached. I would say he is an example to our younger guys because when he was a sophomore and started, he was a great pass rusher, but then the last two years, he has learned his craft. He is not just a pass rusher anymore. He can’t play the run any better than he does now. Sometimes, players want to do one thing at a position, but he does everything. He is a leader on the defense and I am so proud of him.”

Stogner becomes the second player ever from Pine to win the Gridiron Football Player of the Week award joining former Gridiron Football All-American DJ Garrett for that honor. Speaking of the Gridiron Football All-American Bowl Game, Stogner received some very cool news yesterday along with winning the award as he has received an official invite to play in the Gridiron Football All-American Bowl Game.

“It’s awesome! I don’t have too many interests right now to play from colleges, but going to play in the Gridiron Football All-American Bowl Game will help out a lot. It is also another game to play with some of my teammates as well.”

“This is a big opportunity. DJ played in the bowl game and he plays at Kilgore now. James Owens played the year before and he is playing college football right now. I know sometimes that kids enter their senior year and get a little frustrated by colleges not getting them offers, but this game is great for these players to showcase their skills and hopefully a school will see. If not, it is still a great opportunity to play one last game with their friends.”

Along with his official invite, Cadyn Stogner will receive a special letterman jacket patch that says “Gridiron Football Player of the Week.”
