The LSU Tigers are definitely going through the Destrehan pipeline right now for the 2025 class and why not as after all, that is where Tigers legend and NFL All-Pro wide receiver Justin Jefferson went to high school.

In July, the Tigers were able to gain a commitment from four star safety Jhase Thomas. Now, today, LSU got one on the other side of the football from the same school in four star wide receiver Phillip Wright III.

This commitment actually came after a recent decommitment from Michigan. The 6’1, 180 pound wide receiver is the number three receiver in the state behind Edna Karr WR TaRon Francis and Archbishop Shaw WR Jacob Washington.

The speedy playmaking wide receiver is also the third receiver to commit in the 2025 class joining Francis and Bishop Gorman four star wide receiver Derek Meadows. This is the 21st overall commit of the class, which is right now sitting as the number three class in the nation. It also marks back to back days in which the Tigers got commitments with Lipscomb Academy four star safety CJ Jimcoily.

After making this commitment, Wright is focused on his senior season for the Wildcats as Destrehan is another heavy favorite to make a serious run at the Superdome by season’s end.
