Hammond, LA- The Lions were first to put points on the board as Justin Alo took the offense 88 yards on 10 plays to score a touchdown. Alo threw a 30-yard screen pass to Juwan Rogers who plunged into a defender before scoring a touchdown. The Lions go ahead 7-0.

Abilene Christian moved the ball pretty well with their receiving corps, but could not establish much of a running game. An unlucky penalty by Southeastern put the Wildcats within the Lion’s 20-yard line. However, the Lions would hold them to just a field goal.

Julius Maracalin took off on a 45-yard run to put the Lions deep in Wildcat territory. Alo found Brandon Acker on two receptions before throwing a 13-yard reception touchdown. The Lions go up 14-3.

Southeastern received a punt return but it was the Wildcats who recovered a fumble on the return and within Southeastern’s 15-yard line. The costly fumble would result in a touchdown by De’Andre Brown to Dallas Sealey on a trick play. The Wildcats narrow the lead to 14-10 as they trail the Lions.

The Wildcats found some momentum in their favor as they began to move up the field comfortably with Dallas Sealey under center. However, the Lions played tough defense when the Wildcats crossed midfield and held them to a 43-yard field goal. The Lion still hold the 14-13 lead.

Justin Alo threw a beautiful 38-yard pass to Juwan Dickey to put the Lions deep into Wildcat territory after returning a decent punt. The pass play setup the 2-yard rushing touchdown by Julius Maracalin. The rushing touchdown would give the Lions a 21-13 lead going into halftime.

Abilene Christian received a punt deep in their half and was pinned up against their end zone. The Lions defense played aggressive the entire 1st half and they finally came through on a defensive touchdown. Sealey fumbled the ball within the Wildcats’ 5-yard line and Jake Jiannoni returned it for a touchdown. The Lions add to the scoreboard bringing it to 28-13.

Sealey responded with an impressive two play, 65-yard scoring drive. Sealey found Josh Fink on the wide-open route in the middle of the field to give the Wildcats a much-needed touchdown. Abilene Christian trails 28-19 after failing to convert a two-point attempt.

Justin Alo loves the long ball pass as he hooked up with Brandon Acker on a 47-yard reception to put the Lions in red zone territory. The offense was fairly well balanced throughout the night with a supporting running game by Maracalin. The march down the field ended in a 23-yard field goal by Jonathan Tatum.

The Wildcats got one last shot to make a statement at the scoreboard but the Lions defense was solid all night.  The offensive unit took control of the ball for the remainder of the 4th Quarter till the end of regulation.  Southeastern would go on to win their last home game of the season 31-19 and look forward to Thursday’s matchup against in state rival Nicholls State.
