For round 1 of the LHSAA Division II playoff, Liberty Magnet High School (4) takes on Archbishop Hannan (13) in a Friday night matchup at Olympia Park. Throughout the regular season, Liberty earned themselves an 8-1 record due to the stellar play of running back Kaleb Jackson and quarterback Khylan Gross. In only this program’s first year, Head Coach Drey Trosclair and his coaching staff have created a high powered offense that has rolled through the likes of St. Michael, Istrouma, and Belaire, en route to a high seed in the Division II playoff bracket. However, this offense that averaged 42 points per game during the regular season is not the only aspect of this team that comes to play. The Patriot defense featuring Richard Mckneely, Jordan Okoye, and Devin Wilson, has held opponents scoreless in a third of their contests. Only letting up more than 27 points in one game, this defensive versatility shows that Liberty has the ability to continue their season further into November.
