DITR: Laiken Laudermilk, RB/LB, Central Private High School

Laiken Laudermilk is a strong asset for the Central Private Redhawks. Showcasing extreme talent on both sides of the ball Laiken uses his strength and power to display great skill on the football field. Laiken standing at 6’0 and weighing 172 pounds is able to maneuver and power his way through defenders. On the offensive side of the ball Laiken last week scored 3 touchdowns. Two of those touchdowns were from running the ball where he had 24 carries for 201 yards. He added another touchdown on a 19 yard reception, taking it to the house. This is not all for Laiken, for on the defensive side of the ball Laiken would end the game with 9 tackles. As you can see he is an unstoppable force on both sides of the ball and carries himself well on both sides. Laiken is only a Junior for the Redhawks and has even more time to develop and make a big difference for his high school team. Laiken is not just a football player, for he also plays baseball as well. This just proves the type of athlete that Laiken is, showing that he can excel in multiple sports. look for Laiken to be a big impact in their next matchup versus Varnado this Friday.

What created your love for the game?

“I have always grown up playing sports but what really inspired me was when my older brother joined football and I would always go and watch and cheer him on.”

What is your dream college to play at?

“My dream college is to play at University of Tennessee or stay local and play at Southeastern.”

What would you say your biggest strengths on the field are?

“My biggest strength are how big, aggressive, I am on the field and the grit I have in me to take on anyone at any point in the game.”

Which NFL player would you relate your style of play to?

“I would have to say Earl Campbell as I am an aggressive runner and always strive to break through any weakness in a tackle.”

What have been your biggest improvements over the last couple of years?

“My biggest improvements have definitely been my power and how much I’ve been in the weight room working to get stronger.”

How has the recruiting process been for you as a player?

“I am currently uncommitted. I am not stressing it though as God has a plan for all of us.”

What are some self goals you have for yourself as a player?

“A couple of goals for myself going forward is definitely continuing to develop both physically and always displaying the best sportsmanship.”

How have your coaches helped you become a better player?

“My coaches have done an amazing job with keeping me on the right things and setting my eyes to what needs to be done. They hold me accountable when I need it and lift me up just the same.”

How is life as a student athlete, are there any challenges, how do you manage both?

“As a student athlete I can say it;s very hard especially after practices going home tired and not wanting to do anything but push myself to maintain good grades and attitude in and out the classroom, as my mom has always preached sports is what I do not who I am, but my grades and character are.”
