It was an offensive display from Hamilton Christian with Quarterback Javon Vital scoring 5 rushing touchdowns rushing for 371 yards in a dominant performance.
Hamilton Christian started the game off losing yards after a stopped run and a devastating holding call that prevented a touchdown catch from Christopher Rideau. But Rideau would get redeemed by picking up the big 3rd and long off a pass from Javon Vital. After this conversion Vital would then run for a 43 yard touchdown putting the score at 7-0 Hamilton Christian early in the 1st. To compound on this score St. John carelessly dropped the kickoff and Hamilton Christian recovered the ball returning the ball to them. And on the second play of Hamilton Christian’s drive Vital ran in for his second touchdown run on the day, picking up 40 yards in the process and making the score 14-0 Hamilton Christian.
After this, St. John would get their first drive and they received the ball at their 40 yard line. St. John would begin with 2 run plays only gaining 2 yards but, a catch and a run from Nathan Burleigh would get them a 1st on a fourth and 1. On 2nd down St. John would run the ball out of the wildcat formation to Ahmad Wilson who gains 9 yards. The next play would lose yards for St. John on a run and then they attempt to run the ball on fourth down but it is short causing a turnover on downs. Hamilton Christian started their drive off on the wrong foot with a fumbled snap that would lose them 5 yards. Afterwards, they would begin driving down the field with a 2 first down passes to Christopher Rideau gaining Hamilton Christian 24 yards. Alongside this a false start from St. John would put Hamilton Christian in scoring position. Unfortunately for them though they end up fumbling the ball giving St. John the ball at their own 13. St. John would quickly capitalize on the turnover with an 89 yard touchdown run from Ahmad Wilson that would put the score at 14-7 Hamilton Christian.
In their responding drive Hamilton Christian can’t get their run game going and is forced to punt. When St. John gets the ball an Ahmad Wilson run gets them a quick first down but they can’t get much yardage after giving them a fourth down. On this fourth down St. John runs a fake punt gains the first off a Patrick Bueche run. After this conversion though St. John was once again unable to establish any offense and was forced to punt the ball. When they get the ball Hamilton Christian can only gain 4 yards in 3 downs and on their 4th down they attempt to throw a deep ball that is broken up by Brian Romero causing a turnover. St. John’s offense was still struggling though and immediately go three and out putting the ball back in Hamilton Christian’s hands. They would start off strong with a pass to Christopher Rideau that gets a quick first down. Afterwards, Javon Vital would follow up with a 30 yard run and then a 25 yard run in succession. Another Rideau catch would gain another first and another run by Vital would give a second first down but time expires and the game goes into halftime.

St. John starts the 3rd quarter with the ball at the 49 off an unsuccessful onside kick attempt from Hamilton Christian. An Ahmad Wilson run would gain 13 yards and a first to start the drive. After this run though St. John would lose yardage due to penalties and a tackle for loss from Hamilton Christian that forces St. John to punt. On the punt return Javon Vital returns the ball 97 yards for a punt return touchdown putting the score at 21-7 Hamilton Christian. A second failed onside kick from Hamilton Christian would once again put St. John at the 50 to start off. St. John would start off strong with runs to Daniel Braud and Nathan Burleigh that would both gain first downs. Alongside this Hamilton Christian picks up 2 offside penalties that would put St. John in scoring position. With this field position St. John capitalizes with a run to Nathan Burleigh for the touchdown making the score 21-13 off a missed extra point.
After this score Hamilton Christian quickly responded with a 78 yard touchdown run from Javon Vital giving them a 2 score lead at 27-13 after a blocked extra point. St. John with the ball are at first able to pick up a first down with a run to Daniel Braud. This would be the only first down of the drive though as St. John is unable to run the ball well afterwards and punts the ball once more. When Hamilton Christian gets the ball they continue to run the ball to Vital who picks up a first down and a 55 yard rushing touchdown shortly thereafter making the score 34-13.
St. John would start their drive with runs from Daniel Braud and Ahmad Wilson that both gain them first downs entering the fourth quarter. This strong run game though is brought to an abrupt stop though in the red zone with Hamilton Christian’s defensive line forcing a turnover on downs. With the ball Vital throws a pass to Christopher Rideau who gains 50 yards on the run after catch. To follow this up Vital would then kept the ball himself to score a 30 yard rushing touchdown putting the score at 41-13 Hamilton Christian. This would be Vitals’ 5th rushing touchdown and his 6th total touchdown on the day. St. John on their kickoff return get the ball to the 50 off the return from Royal Robinson. They are unable to take advantage of this field position due to the Hamilton Christian D-Line and a big 4th down sack from Cameron Joyce. With the ball Hamilton Christian subs in Connor Joyce at running back who runs for a 35 yard touchdown putting them up 48-13. This would be the final score as both teams clear their benches and run the clock out to end the game.
