Meet Gridiron top 300 Ethan Feaster the 4-star USC commit out of Desoto Texas. Ethan is 6’1 and 180 pounds with a 4.47 40 yard dash time making him a tough cover at wideout. Ethan fires off the line with a quick burst allowing him to consistently create separation away from his defenders and beat defenses in 1-on-1 coverage. Alongside his speed Ethan has great hands and at 6’1 can reach where most defenders can’t. Ethan is extremely versatile being able to play both sides of the football as his father originally started him off on the defensive side of the field. Thus, making him more versatile and, knowledgeable in all aspects of the game. Ethan was the #1 receiver in the class of 2027 before he transferred up to the class of 2026 to enter college early at USC, which displays how next level he really is. Ethan won a state championship in his freshman year at Desoto and is hoping to compete in another in his playoff game against Copperas Cove.
Here’s my Interview with Ethan Feaster!
What got you into football?
I’ve always been around it ever since I was 2/3 years old running around on the field with my dad and my brother. My dad coached my brother when I was real, real, young so I’ve always been around it so I grew up in it.
Was there a certain play or moment that made you pick your position?
Well, growing up I played defensive-end and linebacker so, I was always on the defensive side but it was more of when I scored my first touchdown. I was like ‘oh I want to score the ball I don’t want to play defense’. I grew up playing running back when I started playing offense but…with my body frame I was kind of forced to receiver.
Was there a certain player you tried to emulate?
Well I’m from Louisiana so the person everybody wanted to be like was Odell, that was the popular thing when I was younger so I wanted to be like Odell and Jarvis Landry, I wanted to one-hand everything. But as I got older and really fell in love with the position I started to learn tape from everybody.
What’s your strongest attribute on the field?
Reading defenses for sure, I’m real quarterback friendly. If it is a DB that’s on my back I’ve got strong enough hands to go up and make that catch. But, not only that just understanding the zones and the holes in a cover 4, understanding when it’s man to man that I’ve got to win my route. Just as long as me and my quarterback are on the same page I promise you he’ll get however many yards he want.
Who would you compare your playstyle to?
I feel like Ja’Marr Chase really…I’m not the biggest or stockiest receiver but It’s gonna take 2-5 people to tackle me and I’m gonna always make the first guy miss, I pride myself on that. And one thing you see about him is you never see him get tackled by the first guy.
Dream NFL teammate?
I would say AJ Brown, he’s a real interesting person. He’s been through a lot since he’s been in the league…so just me learning from him. He’s been in different situations and he’s one of the receivers I can truly say has been through a lot in the league and he still fight through adversity and make the best of every opportunity he get’s the ball.
What differentiates you from the rest?
You can ask the people around me in Dallas they know my work ethic. I think my work ethic is one of the best things about me but not only that, I feel like me being so coachable. One thing a lot of players in my situation would probably feel themselves a little bit and feel like they can talk to a coach any type of way. One thing about me is I’ll never do that, I was raised in a great household, they taught me respect and one thing I’m going to do is respect whoever’s coaching me. And also understanding coverages. I’ve been able to understand coverages since I was 10/11 years old.
Favorite football move to hit somebody with?
I like to stiff-arm people or to run them over, those two for sure.
Favorite part about football?
Just the winning aspect of it really. My three years that I’ve been at Desoto it’s been fun I’ve had some real fun teammates but, the thing about it is I grew up with these guys. So, it’s really just seeing those guys having a smile on their face and I never want them to experience the feeling of losing so I do it for those guys.
Favorite football Movie or Show?
I would say Friday Night Lights or Greater.
