The seventh and final stop on the Gridiron Football Elite Camp Series is at Louisiana Christian University, which is located in Pineville, Louisiana. The former site of the Gridiron Football All-American Bowl Game was one last opportunity for players to put some work in with Gridiron Football while getting evaluated by the staff for media opportunities or to be selected to play in the prestigious All-Star game.
It was also a great opportunity for prospects to perform in front of LCU’s coaching staff led by head coach Ben McLaughlin as every position coach got to work with each of the players at the camp. It was not only a good opportunity for players, but it was also a chance for the coaches to look at some of the talent that was available.
Over 75 players were in attendance for the final camp as they were able to get interviewed by a Gridiron Football staff member while also getting advice from the likes of CEO Andy Bryson, Coach McLaughlin, and others.
All the LCU coaches put out their stopwatches as the players all got to run the 40 yard dash. Jennings 2026 WR Gerald Watson ran a blazing 4.47/40, which not only paced the camp, but also the fourth overall best time of the entire series. 28 other players were able to run under the five second zone with Jennings 2027 QB Chris Ned (4.53), Port Barre 2026 QB Tylus Metrejean (4.56), Notre Dame 2026 WR Brice Duhon (4.56), Lafayette High School 2026 WR Jamieon Brown (4.57), Elton 2027 RB Makelin Lemoine (4.62), Carroll Junior High 2029 DB Lewis Carter (4.62), Denham Springs 2026 S Quentin Clay (4.65), Jena 2027 OLB/Edge Parker Durham (4.71), Springfield 2026 QB Ethan Lipscomb (4.72), Jonesboro Hodge 2028 WR/DB JaeDon Sandoval (4.72), Northwest 2026 DE Jei’vionne Owens (4.75), Sacred Heart Middle School 2031 RB Kaiden Monroe (4.75), Alexandria 2027 WR Kelton Ray (4.78), Jonesboro Hodge 2026 RB/LB Landon Boston (4.78), Jonesboro Hodge 2026 QB/S Dakota Knox (4.78), Haughton 2028 RB Cade Coleman (4.78), Denham Spring 2027 RB Tanner Koerner (4.78), and Springfield 2026 RB/CB Gauge Flocke (4.78) all ran under a 4.8.
For the shuttle, Notre Dame 2026 WR Brice Duhon had a camp best 4.22 time. Six other players ran a 4.5 or quicker in the shuttle including Denham Springs 2026 S Quentin Clay (4.31), Jonesboro Hodge 2026 RB/LB Landon Boston (4.37), Jennings 2026 WR Gerald Watson (4.44), Lafayette 2026 WR Jamieon Brown (4.47), Denham Springs 2027 RB Tanner Koerner (4.5), Springfield 2026 RB/CB Gauge Flocke (4.5).
At the camp, 14 players were able to jump 9 feet in the broad jump led by Denham Springs 2026 S Quentin Clay (9’8), Jennings 2026 WR Gerald Watson (9’8), and Alexandria 2028 DB Jemal Gibson (9’8). Other notable jumps include DeRidder 2026 DE Amari Willis (9’7), Lafayette 2026 WR Jamieon Brown (9’6), DeRidder 2027 WR/DB Ayren Woods (9’4), Jonesboro Hodge 2026 RB/LB Landon Boston (9’4), Carroll Junior High 2029 DB Lewis Carter (9’3), Notre Dame 2026 WR Brice Duhon (9’2), Port Barre 2026 QB Tylus Metrejean (9’2), East Beauregard 2029 RB/OLB Cooper Hildreth (9’2), Jennings 2027 QB Chris Ned (9’2), Tioga 2028 S Cayle Racine (9’1), and Jena 2028 RB/TE Hayden Deville (9’1).
After the combine, the players each got about 30 minutes with a college position coach at Louisiana Christian to refine their skills and to improve on their technique. Those drills were put to the test as the players competed against each other towards the end of a humid day in Pineville.
In 1v1 action, Jennings 2027 QB Chris Ned threw a deep touchdown dime to Pineville 2029 WR Jeremy Roberts, who put out his hands and the ball landed perfectly there over his shoulder. Pineville 2026 QB Evan Schneider completed a quick slant to Lafayette 2026 WR Jamieon Brown who outraced his opponent for a touchdown. Despite persistent coverage from Denham Springs 2026 S Quentin Clay, Port Barre 2026 WR Tylus Metrejean kept his focus and made a diving grab. Schneider found Elton 2026 RB Makelin Lemoine in stride for a touchdown. Calvary Baptist 2027 QB Matthew Brinkman threw a deep ball score to Notre Dame 2026 WR Brice Duhon. Like Duhon, Acadiana Christian 2026 WR Lane Parks was able to burn a defensive back for also a deep touchdown.
The defensive backs had their fair share of plays that they made as well. Consistently, Denham Springs 2026 S Quentin Clay, Carroll Junior High 2029 DB Lewis Carter, and Alexandria 2028 DB Jemal Gibson made plays on the football. Speaking of making plays on the ball, Acadiana Christian 2028 DB Silas Johnson made two interceptions during 1v1 play.
Making the transition from 1v1 to 7v7 action, Plaquemine 2027 QB Brennan Miles fired a slant to Lafayette 2026 WR Jamieon Brown to start things off. DeRidder 2027 WR Ayren Woods kept his focus by making a bobbling catch with the throw coming from Jennings 2027 QB Chris Ned. Tioga 2030 QB/WR Kaiden Black threw the only touchdown of the 7v7 session by firing a quick slant to Dutchtown 2028 WR Ashton Englisbee. Montgomery 2026 QB Mason Jordan was able to rifle a pass in the middle of the field with tight coverage to Jamieon Brown Arguably the best defensive play of the session came when Cecilia 2028 LB Kinley Etienne stole the ball away from an offensive player to save a touchdown in the back of the end zone. Quarterbacks Chris Ned and Tylus Metrejean showed what they can do on defense as they both intercepted passes. Tioga Junior High 2030 QB/WR Kaiden Black was able to find his teammate Damari Draper over the middle of the field as he laid out to make a catch. Calvary Baptist Academy 2027 QB Matthew Brinkman showed his accuracy by again finding Ayren Woods over the middle of the field.
The competition was just as hot on the field with the linemen as they battled each other in what we call the trench war and the tire pull. There were some really good battles out there. Standouts from those drills include Rosepine 2026 OL/DL Patrick Gibson, Captain Shreve 2026 DL Osborne Demery, DeRidder 2026 DL JaRon Jackson, DeRidder 2026 DL Amari Willis, DeRidder 2027 DL Paxton Romine, Northwest 2026 DE Jei’vionne Owens, Captain Shreve 2026 OL Andre Campbell, and Jennings 2026 DL Nate Broussard.
When the dust all settled, the Louisiana Christian coaches got together to discuss their top performers. Based on the coaching staff’s decision, the camp’s top QB is Plaquemine 2027 QB Brennan Miles, who looked impressive in QB drills and 7v7. The top running back is Elton 2027 RB Makelin Lemoine . The camp’s top receiver is Notre Dame 2026 WR Brice Duhon. The top offensive lineman is Captain Shreve 2026 OL Andre Campbell. The top defensive lineman is Jennings 2026 DT Nate Broussard, and finally, the top LB/S named is Denham Springs 2026 S Quentin Clay.
There were plenty of 2025 Gridiron Football All-Americans that have already received invites represented at the camp including Acadiana Christian 2026 LB Kaleb Broussard, Jonesboro Hodge 2026 RB/LB Landon Boston, Denham Springs 2026 S Quentin Clay, 2026 OL Ian Wallace, DeRidder 2026 DL JaRon Jackson, and DeRidder 2026 DL Amari Willis. Four more rising seniors punched their ticket to the Gridiron Football All-American Bowl Game at the end of the camp. Those players were Jennings 2026 DT Nate Broussard, Captain Shreve 2026 OL Andre Campbell, Notre Dame 2026 WR Brice Duhon, and Rosepine 2026 OL Patrick Gibson. Although those were the only four that received offers at the end of the day, it does not mean that those will be the only seniors invited from this camp. In fact, there will be a couple of more players from the camp that will soon be surprised with invites as well to play in the game.
It was a strong end to another strong camp series. All the player rankings and complete coverage from the camps will be in our next two print magazines.
