Grambling Rolls Over Arkansas Pine Bluff in Recent Win

This game between Grambling State and Arkansas Pine Bluff was all Grambling tonight as they played an explosive and dominating game all the way through from start to finish as they played a shut out game that ended in a score of 70-0. The defense played a large part in this shut out when they had six sacks on the night and held Arkansas Pine Bluff to just 6 yards rushing and 177 yards passing. Grambling played a great game on both offense and defense and also completed its first shutout game since 2011.

The Grambling offense played lights out as quarterback Devante Kincade threw for 457 yards and 6 touchdowns. He also completed 23 of his 26 passed and had a career high pass yard game as well. In the first quarter the two touchdowns that Grambling made was passes from Kincade to Chad Williams, who had 8 receptions and 3 touchdowns in the night for 236 yards. The second quarter is when Grambling really started to pull away from the opposing team as two touchdown passes from Kincade were completed to Jordan Jones. Later after those scores there was a big defensive play as Arkez Cooper caught an interception from ARPB’s Duncan and ran that in for a touchdown. Dominique Leake also caught a touchdown pass from Kincade in this quarter.

At the end of the first half, Grambling was ahead 42-0, but they did not stop there, the tigers wanted to go further for the shut out. Chad Williams caught his third receiving touchdown in the third quarter and there was also a rushing touchdown made by Jestin Kelly. In the fourth quarter there was two rushing touchdowns made by Grambling’s Charles Wright, contributing to that final 70-0 score for the night. Grambling also had an astounding 743 total yards for the game and 29 first downs.

This performance by Grambling shows their talent and current dominance in the conference, and this also shows in their rise in the FCS rankings. At this time Grambling remains undefeated in the SWAC conference and is also ranked at the top of the conference, they are also a one loss team so far on the season. The tigers travel to take on Alabama A&M next week then return home to face Alabama State the following week. Keep watching Grambling as they continue their great performance.
