Grambling Dominates MVSU for Fourth Straight Win

The Grambling Tigers travelled to Mississippi Valley State University over the weekend to face the Delta Devils in another match up that would prove to be another dominating performance by Grambling. The tigers were explosive on offence and performed well on defense to keep themselves pushing forward and scoring all game. Once the ball game was over, Grambling had gave themselves a resounding win when they defeated Mississippi Valley State by a score of 59-10.

One of the leaders for the tiger offence was quarterback Devante Kincade, who completed 20 out of his 27 passes for 326 yards of passing. He also threw 4 touchdowns and an interception in a great performance as he has been doing for the entire season thus far. Kincade had connections to a few different players for touchdowns that night, the most going to Dominique Leake, who had 4 receptions for 109 yards and two touchdowns. Other players to catch for touchdowns were Martez Carter, who caught a 25 yard touchdown as well as a rushing touchdown early in the game, and Devante Davis, who caught a 26 yard pass for a score.

Grambling also had 535 total yards for the night, with the majority of those coming from passing, they also had 24 first downs in the game, compared to Mississippi Valley’s 14. The tigers have now completed their fourth straight win to remain undefeated in the SWAC conference, an honor they currently share with Southern University, another SWAC team in Louisiana. Grambling is also climbing up the FCS national polls, they previously cracked the top 25 and are rising at a current spot of #22 and is subject to change.

Grambling has had the previous two weeks off from play and they came back well rested and ready to play, it definitely showed in this last game. In addition, Grambling coach Broderick Fobbs has recently agreed to a 2 year contract extension stating, “We’ve got something special going on here”. The tigers are also sitting at the top of the conference. The team comes back home for their homecoming game against Arkansas Pine Bluff in a game that will close out October play of this season, The tigers will then play an away game at Alabama State to start off November.
