Here is my interview with Ethan!
When did you start playing football?
I started playing my 8th grade year of middle school
What made you get into football?
Honestly, it was my middle school coach just kind of asked me to come out and play because of my athleticism. I never really wanted to play football until then, I was strictly a baseball guy. I decided to go out there for the first practice and fell in love with it.
How would you describe your playing style?
Calm, cool, and collected. But also like very hard, I always put my body on the line no matter what it takes for my team. Always being the shorter, undersized guy it never stopped me because the way I look at it is always heart over size.
Any goals after high school?
It’s always been a dream of mine to always play college sports, either football, baseball, or track. Any of them that would give me an opportunity.
Do you have a college in mind, that you would want to go to?
I would love to go to Southeastern but those odds are not very high. But LCU has always been something thats been on my mind because I have had family members that have gone there.
How has the recruiting process been for you?
I haven’t gotten any offers yet. I have sent in a bunch of tapes but I haven’t got any feedback yet. It’s all in Gods plan, its all in his timing. If thats whats meant for me, then it’s meant for me
Who would you say your favorite football player is?
I am going to have to go with Joe burrow because of his playing style, he has just a little bit of swagger, he is calm, cool and he just ran the football team very very well as a quaterback should.
We got to interview Ethan before the bowl game, here’s some of his thoughts!
What does it mean for you to get another opportunity to play in the bowl game this year?
Very opening opportunity, it gives me the opportunity to showcase what I have to more coaches that wasn’t able to see me during regular season. Just an opportunity to make another memory with a lot of people that I do know and play with again. Just to have fun.
What are your goals when you arrive at the bowl game?
To really focus and stand among the best of the best there and show that even going to a smaller school, you can still make a name for yourself
How was this season?
Team wise it didn’t go as planned, we made it 2 and 8. Overall I had good stats on the year. I had fun, that was the main thing, I had fun with the boys I played with since middle school so very blessed to be able to play the game as it is.
Here is his experience at the bowl game!
Tell me about your experience and how you liked it
It was great, it gave me the opportunity to showcase my skills one more time and if I don’t ever get to play at the next level, it gave me the opportunity to put the pads on and helmet one more time and just feel what that feeling is one last time. But I hope that it gave me enough opportunity to be looked at again.
Did you make any connections?
I talked to LCUs coach they were good, had good conversations
What is a strenght of yours?
Understanding the game itself, understanding the plays, reading film, everything mental. I had to be more mental than anybody else because of being that shorter smaller guy.
What is a weakness of yours?
It would have to be my size, just because I’m the shorter person. For the longest time I was the smallest, but the weight room helped change that. Being the shorter guy and being looked at as the guy that would never be anything good. It was my point to prove that wrong to people.
What would you tell college coaches?
That I’m a player thats going to give 110 effort no matter if I’m playing or just in the weight room or even just in school itself. Im never gonna not give effort and never not give it all I got.
