East Ascension High School linebacker Joshua Berfect is one of the best senior defensive players in the Baton Rouge area. At 5’10, 215 pounds, Joshua is extremely athletic and has incredible sideline to sideline 4.6/40 speed. Not only is he an aggressive tackler, but he is great playmaker on that side of the football that forces big defensive plays including interceptions and forced fumbles. Last season, he led the team in tackles with 88 plus 4 INTs, 1 sack, 2 fumble recoveries, and even scored a defensive touchdown. The All-District selection and team captain has received three offers so far from Memphis Prep, Good Elite Prep, and John Melvin University. He will like to add to that total when he showcases his abilities on December 30th in Orange Beach, Alabama for the Gridiron Football All-American Bowl Game.
“When I heard the news, I immediately thanked God and I was really excited after all the hard work I’ve put in. This bowl game really means a lot to me as I get a chance to compete with the best of the best and also receive coaching from the best of the best and to just enjoy the experience. Not many people get this amazing opportunity.”
