I spoke with Christopher Rideau Jr. , who attends Barbe High School in Lake Charles and is part of the 2027 graduating class. He recently competed at the Lake Charles camp and has already built an impressive resume on the field. This past season, he recorded 672 receiving yards on 32 catches out of 39 targets, earning First Team All-Southwest, First Team All-District, and All-State Honorable Mention honors. As a wide receiver, he takes pride in his production and consistency. In the weight room, he’s put up a 225-pound bench press, 395-pound squat, and a 375-pound deadlift. He also maintains a strong 3.9 GPA, showing his commitment both athletically and academically.

What goals do you have for your upcoming season?
“Showcase my talents, get attention, and show out.”
What made you start playing football?
“My brother and my passion for the game.”
What made you choose this camp?
“Always more to learn, I chose this camp because I wanted to compete against good players, get better, and get exposure from coaches.”
What was your favorite drill?
“Footwork drill”
As you have gone through high school, what are some of the toughest challenges that you have had to endure over the years?
“Adversity”
Is there a specific college or colleges you would want to play for?
“I’m open to any college that gives me an opportunity, but I want to play at the highest level possible”
Who is your favorite football player?
“My favorite player is Jaxon Smith-Njigba because of his route running, hands, and how smooth he is on the field. I try to model parts of my game after him.”
What are your biggest strengths?
“My biggest strengths are my work ethic, my ability to stay focused, and my skill set on the field. I’m always looking to improve and compete, I can track a ball from anywhere, strong hands.”
What is your favorite part of football?
“My favorite part is competing and being out there with my team. There’s nothing like the energy and the feeling of making plays.”
How important is academics to you as a student-athlete?
Academics are very important to me because they come first. Being a student-athlete means handling both school and sports, and I know education open doors for my futrue.”
