DITR: QB Dakota McAllister Independence High School (Independence, LA)

We are excited to announce our latest Diamond In The Rough QB, Independence High School, Dakota McAllister, class of 2027. Dakota recently attended our camp at Live Oak. He backs up his performance with strong athletic numbers, recording a 4.9 40 yard dash, 4.98 shuttle time, and a 29-inch vertical jump. In the weight room, he shows impressive strength with a 305 lb bench press, 360 lb squat, 315 lb dead-lift, and a 210 lb clean. He does well off the field maintaining a GPA of 3.5. We at Gridiron Football wish Dakota the best in his journey!

What goals do you have for your upcoming season?

I just transferred but I want help change the culture of my new school because they went 2-8. Also make sure everybody around me gets better.

What made you start playing football?

I come from a football family, my dad played and my brother. So I thought it was cool and I wanted to be like them and I found my own love for it.

What is a drill that you can improve on (from camp)?

The drill with the bags where you set your feet from the swing.

What made you choose this camp?

An opportunity to get better.

Who is your favorite football player?

My favorite player is Saquon Barkley.

What motivates you to keep working hard?

The fact that it is my dream and I wanted it since I was four.

What was your favorite drill?

The 1v1’s.

How did it feel competing with other players at the camp?

It felt normal, my first three years of high school all I did was compete.

How does camps like this get help you get better for the season?

It allows me to find things I need to fix for myself. And find people I play against and to find out their weaknesses.

What is the biggest thing you learned from the camp?

Everybody around me, you can’t think the way they look that they are gonna be bad. It was a little wide receiver that was one of the best wide receiver’s out there.
