Let’s welcome the newest Diamond in the Rough, from the class of 2026, Drey Green! This animal and nature lover was born and raised right here in Louisiana! Drey is maintaining a respectable 2.7 GPA for his senior year. He is 5’11 and weighs 375 lbs. He can bench an exceptional 315 lbs, his clean is an outstanding 225 lbs, and he can squat 405 lbs. Drey has received numerous awards, including Honorable Mention All-State, 1st Team All-District Nose Tackle, 2nd Team All-District Center, and was named MVP by Capital High. These impressive statistics have led Drey to become the newest Diamond in the Rough!

Is football the only sport you play?

“Yes, it is.”

What is your favorite sport?

“Football.”

Do you have a dream team you would like to play for?

“I would like to play for the New Orleans Saints.”

Who is your favorite player?

“Arron Donald, because we have the same playing style.”

What is your favorite part of football?

“The competition aspect.”

If you could have anyone cater for the team, who would it be?

“Jimmy John’s.”

If you could be described in one word, what would it be?

“Exciting.”

What is your favorite sports memory?

“My favorite sports memory was my first varsity snap.”

Are there any specific game day rituals you follow?

“Wake up and pray.”

If you could no longer play football, what would you do instead?

“Own my own business.”

How often do you practice?

“At least 4 times a week.”

What are your biggest strengths?

“I’m a very social person, and I can inside run stop very well.”

What are your weaknesses?

“Pass rushing.”

Are you looking to improve any specific skills or tactics?

“Hand fighting.”

Do you have any major goals you are trying to achieve?

“Play football at the collegiate level.”

If you could add or take away anything from the game of football, what would it be?

“I would add an extra person.”

Who is the biggest support in your journey?

“My mom.”

Who is the role model in your life?

“My coach, Coach Lee.”

Was there a time you faced a major setback or injury?

“I wasn’t on the best team, but I was still able to make a name for myself and receive the awards that I have.”

Why are you passionate about football?

“I love competition and pushing myself.”

Do you have a favorite memory from the bowl game?

“My first practice for the bowl game.”

What was the most difficult part of the bowl game?

“Learning the plays in such a short amount of time.”

Did you learn any lessons from playing in the bowl game?

“A lesson I learned was that there’s always room for improvement, not just in football, but in life as well.”

Did the bowl game change how you view football?

“The bowl game changed my view on football by showing how different people come together to make a team.”
