Jaylin Acker is a 5’10, 155 pound class of 2022 cornerback out of Pass Christian High School in Pass Christian, Mississippi. Jaylin’s instincts at the corner position jumped out while watching his film. He was able to anticipate passes and make plays on the ball all season. Jaylin also displayed good, fundamental tackling techniques as he made a flurry of one on one tackles in the open field. This guy has the capability and every tool needed to make a difference for a college program.

Tell me a little bit about how you got into football?

I started playing when I moved to Mississippi in second grade. From there I never stopped.

Who were your biggest motivators for playing the game?

My dad and grandpa. Football runs in my family so I decided to take it up and play.

What should coaches at the next level know about you?

No matter if I’m red shirted or starting, I’m the most competitive on the field. I take everything into consideration, I’m coachable, and I’m teachable.

How would you describe your style of play?

I’m very technical. I know the game in and out, I can read offenses, and pick coverages to stop it.

What sets you apart from other players at your position?

I know every position and how it works. I can tell what route the receiver will run by how he lines up or stands. I watch a lot of film and study receivers.

What memory do you want your teammates and coaches to have of you when your high school career ends?

I wish to be remembered as a hard worker. I want to be remembered as a leader. The way I move and think people tried to copy and I’m just glad I had that affect on my team and city.

What lessons has the game of football taught you?

It taught me to trust my teammates. You can’t do everything on your own. If you trust in your team great things will happen.
