We have junior Karson Crew out of Homer, LA. A 5’11 295 DT/OG with a 4.0 GPA ending the season with 40+ tackles, 15+ pancakes blocks, 2 force fumbles, and 1 PBU. What has football taught you that you think will help you most in college life?
Everything ain’t easy, it’s gone be days you think you can’t get up in the morning but you have to sacrifice everything and do what’s best for you and achieve your goals.
How does it feel knowing this is your last season wearing your high school jersey?
It’s sad because i been building a relationship with all the people i played with for these 4 years and we made a lot of good memories.
What moment from your senior year are you going to remember forever?
Are you planning to play football in college, or focus more on academics?
Planning to play football in college while still giving academics my all.
What are you most excited about for college and what are you nervous about?
I’m excited for the college games and building a relationship with coaches. I’m nervous about the workouts and the playbook.
Who pushed you the most to become the player (and person) you are today?
My dad and coach.
What’s one lesson a younger teammate could learn from your journey?
Stay consistent, top of your grades, and trust the process in any bad situation.
How do you stay motivated when practices or games get tough?
I think of the goal i’m trying to achieve in life.
What goals are you setting for yourself your first year of college?
Starting on dline, staying on top of my grades, getting on the coaches good side, and making sure i’m up to date on everything the team does.
If you could replay one game or moment from high school football, what would it be and why?
I would replay Homer vs. Haynesville play off game because I had got injury in the first quarter and I would love to redeem myself.
How has balancing school, football, and life shaped your time management?
It shaped into a busy schedule but I still make time for things that are important.
What kind of legacy do you hope you’re leaving behind on your team?
The legacy I want to leave behind is that i’m an explosive and violent player on the field and I am very coachable. I would do anything to help the team win.
Outside of football, what are you hoping to discover or try in college?
Perusing a real clothing brand.
Five years from now, where do you hope football and your education have taken you?
I hope it takes me to the best person I can be.
