DITR: Christian Maxie, RB, Byrd High School

Christian Maxie is an elusive running back for Byrd High School, located in Shreveport Louisiana. Maxie being described as an elusive back proves it in every aspect of his game. He is an exiting young running back with a bright future for the Yellow Jackets. Maxie is a 5’10 172 pound running back that uses his height and weight as a weapon, which helps him be the elusive back he is proud of being. It is very early in Maxie’s career, for the young star is only a sophomore and is displaying numbers of a veteran running back. Last year Maxie was a freshman and was limited to touches, but since gaining the starting role the running back has exceeded expectations tremendously. Maxie would go on to win player of the game last week in his matchup versus Parkway. The running back would go on to run for 291 yards and 3 touchdowns in the matchup. This is just the start for Christian Maxie.

Maxie is a first year starter for the Byrd Yellow Jackets having a fresh start to the season, and an opportunity to prove himself very early in his career. Football has always been with Maxie ever since he has been a young child, for he said himself it’s a type of love that will be with him forever and will never leave. Maxie has been off to a hot start for the Yellow Jackets winning player of the game 3 times already this year for Byrd. Through the season Maxie is at 687 yards and 6 touchdowns for the Yellow Jackets. With these stats three of Maxie’s runs have been over 100 yards. Maxie leads Louisiana running backs in his class in rushing yards, and is number 9 in the state in all classes for rushing yards. Maxie is averaging 137.4 yards per game with 16.4 yards per carry. Maxie will look to help lead the Yellow Jackets to a successful season and be a key contributor to the team. The Yellow Jackets are off to a hot start on the season, they are currently 4-1 and will look to go 5-1 as they face Huntington this Friday night. Look for Maxie to have a stellar game and once again put his extraordinary skills to use this Friday.
