Diamond in the Rough: Tavias Gordon

Tavias Gordon is a power RB out of Westlake High. With a frame of 5’10, 195 pounds, the senior running-back looks to impose his will on the defense on a weekly basis. Tavias Gordon runs a 4.57 40 yard dash and has a 2.9 GPA. One of most impressive performances this season came in a 59-14 win against Rayne, where he had 211 yards and 3 TDs on 20 carries (10.55 YPC). When did you start playing football & what made you start playing?

“I started playing football when I was 6 years old, started playing because I grew up watching football and had the thrill of playing it.”

What do you love about football?

“I love the competition and the competitive nature to the game.”

What player, NFL or College did you model your game after?

“I modeled my game after Marshawn Lynch.”

What would your teammates say about you?

“They would say that I play hard and I’m always going to pull through for the game and score!”

What is your motivation?

“My family, friends, and everyone that supports me.”

What parts of your game are you working on right now?

“My body language.”

What is your goal for this season?

2500 all purpose yards and 30 plus touchdowns.

What game or moment in the game has been your favorite up to this point?

“My favorite moment is when the ball in my hand and I make plays.”

What do you do on your free time outside of school?

Watch film, play the game, and have fun with family and friends.

What is one thing that you think college coaches and recruiters should know about you?

That I’m a great player and teammate. I work hard, play hard, and play my role!
