Diamond in the Rough: Parker Williams

Parker Williams is a class of 2023 ATH out of Fulshear High School in Fulshear, TX. Parker is a big play waiting to happen. The 5’10, 165 pound speedster primarily plays QB and registered over 1700 passing yards and 900 rushing yards on the season. He is most affective on designed QB runs and creating plays when the pocket breaks down. Parker adds a nice touch on his deep ball and has great vision on the field. His 4.44 speed allows him to create plays equally affectively from the slot as well. Parker adds a 4.0 GPA off the field and is someone we should watch out for in the class of 2023.

When did you start playing football?

I started playing about second grade. I started off playing soccer then got into football. I played flag and then my first year of tackle in 6th grade.

Who are your biggest motivators for playing?

My parents. When I played flag and pee wee football my dad was my coach so he motivated me. My mom and dad always stay on top of me to help meet my goals.

How will you impact a program at the next level?

I’m a great team player and leader. I bring positive energy wherever I go and I build others up. I do what I can to help the team win, whatever it takes.

How are you looking to improve going into next season?

I’m looking to improve my accuracy, complete more passes, and work on my arm strength this offseason.

You’ve been very impactful at the QB position but also have shown the ability to play WR as well. Which would you rather play at the next level and why?

I think I would make a better receiver at the next level because of my route running and speed. I feel like it fits my body more and my play style. I’m quick and fast. My greatest skill is route running and creating separation from the slot.

What are some goals you have set for yourself going into your senior season? Your team?

For myself I just want to be the best leader that I can. I want to try to make first team all district at QB. For the team I want us to make a playoff run. We’ve got a lot of starters coming back on offense. We have to play good in the regular season to get ready for the post season.

What lessons has the game of football instilled in that will last forever?

I learned that you have to work hard and nothing is given. You always have to work for a spot on the team. You have to work to perform in playoffs.
