Diamond in the Rough: Dillon Gresham

Dillon Gresham is a 4⭐ Wide Receiver from San Jacinto (CA). Gresham stands at 6”1’ 165-Pounds and is an extremely fast and elusive prospect that can turn on the burners on deep balls or force defenders to miss tackles in the open field. His speed and ball-tracking skills make him a very viable option on the deep ball. You can also dump the ball to him in screens or check downs and let him go to work creating his own space and making defenders miss.

I had the opportunity to talk to Dillon Gresham and this is what the speedy California receiver had to say!

What is something you would want college coaches to know about you?

“I’m an honor roll student and a 4 sport athlete.”

What makes you unique as a prospect?

“I’m very versatile, I can play both sides of the ball. I’m everything you should look for in a wide receiver; I’m fast, physical, and a leader who knows how to go up and get it. I’m hungrier than other prospects, I don’t mind the grind, it’s what I do.”

What is something you are looking for in a college program during your recruitment?

“I’m looking for a family base environment a coaching staff who knows what they doing and can see me in their offense a team who knows how to develop me on and off the field with good academic goals.”

What is your proudest achievement in football?

“My proudest achievement In football was getting that first offer telling me my hard work is finally paying off.”

What makes you a valuable prospect off the field?

“Off the field, I give back to the community rather in FFA or feeding the homeless or clothes giving away.”

Do you have any goals for the rest of your college career?

“My goals for my high-school career winning a national championship and getting 1000 receiving yards.”

What is your biggest strength as a football player?

“My biggest strength in football honestly I’m just a playmaker but my speed and acceleration.”

Who do you look up to as an athlete?

“As an athlete, I look up to Bo Jackson someone who was educated and can do it all.”

What role do you play as a leader on the team?

“I’m the respected leader who carries the coach’s expectations on how the program should be run.”

What’s your favorite football memory?

“My favorite football memory was my very first TD at 5 years old.”

If you had to compare yourself to a college of a professional player, Who would it be? Why?

“If I had to compare myself to a college player it would be Deanthony Thomas because we’re fast and know how to make a small play into a big one.”

What’s an example of you overcoming adversity as an athlete?

“Coming into high school I broke my collar bone in a football game but even knowing I couldn’t play football for the time being I knew I was going to bounce back better than ever I kept working out on my own time resting up waiting to get cleared so I can ball out.”
